Terms and Conditions of Consignment
Everthread — Terms & Conditions of Consignment
Effective date: October 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern the managed resale service provided by Everthread.
By completing our Client Consignment Form, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions, and that you have checked your items against our Brand Checker and Quality Guidelines before arranging collection or dispatch.
1. Our Service
Everthread is a UK-based managed resale service for pre-owned women's clothing and selected accessories.
We manage the resale process on your behalf, including preparing and photographing accepted items, researching and setting prices, creating listings, managing buyer enquiries, arranging dispatch and handling marketplace returns.
Ownership of your items remains with you until they are sold or otherwise dealt with under an arrangement you have expressly authorised.
Everthread does not guarantee that any item will sell or achieve a particular price.
2. Client Responsibility — Brand Checker and Quality Guidelines
It is the client's responsibility to ensure that every item submitted to Everthread meets our published Brand Checker and Quality Guidelines.
Before sending any items, you must:
Check that each item's brand is accepted by Everthread.
Ensure that every item meets our Quality Guidelines, including requirements relating to cleanliness, condition, wear and damage.
Check that the items are authentic and that you are legally entitled to sell them.
Exclude any items that do not meet these requirements.
By submitting the Client Consignment Form, you confirm that you have completed these checks.
Everthread reserves the right to refuse any item that does not meet our Brand Checker or Quality Guidelines, including items received as part of a collection that otherwise contains acceptable goods.
Arranging a collection, issuing a postage label or receiving a parcel does not constitute acceptance of its contents.
Items that do not meet our requirements will be treated as rejected items under Section 3.
3. Rejected Items and Return Costs
Where Everthread rejects an item because it does not meet our published Brand Checker or Quality Guidelines, we will notify the client.
The client is responsible for arranging and paying for the return or collection of rejected items.
Clients have 14 calendar days from the date of notification to arrange collection or return.
Where return postage or a courier service is required, Everthread will confirm the reasonable cost before arranging dispatch.
This allocation of costs does not apply where the need for return arises from Everthread's own error or breach of its obligations.
If no arrangements are made within 14 days, Everthread may issue a further written notice explaining the available options and the proposed next steps.
Rejected items will not automatically become Everthread's property or be donated or disposed of solely because the 14-day period has expired. Any further action will comply with applicable law.
4. Counterfeit, Fake and Inauthentic Goods
Everthread has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards counterfeit goods.
Clients must only submit genuine, authentic items that they lawfully own and are entitled to sell.
By submitting items, you confirm that, to the best of your knowledge and belief, they are authentic and not counterfeit, stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained.
If you are unsure whether an item is authentic, do not send it to Everthread.
Everthread reserves the right to refuse, withdraw from sale or suspend processing of any item where there are reasonable concerns about authenticity.
We may request proof of purchase or other reasonable evidence of authenticity.
Where an item is confirmed to be counterfeit, Everthread will not offer it for resale or knowingly return it to circulation through an unlawful transaction.
Counterfeit goods may be reported to the relevant authorities, retained where legally required, surrendered to an authorised body or disposed of where lawful.
Everthread will not automatically destroy an item based solely on an unverified suspicion of counterfeiting.
The client may be responsible for reasonable, evidenced costs directly arising from knowingly or negligently submitting counterfeit goods, to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in this section authorises Everthread to take action contrary to applicable law or removes the client's statutory rights.
5. Sending Items to Everthread
Clients must ensure that all items are clean, appropriately prepared and securely packaged before dispatch.
Where Everthread offers complimentary collection or a prepaid postal label, this covers the agreed delivery service only.
Clients must provide suitable packaging materials unless otherwise agreed.
Please do not include items excluded by our Brand Checker or Quality Guidelines.
Any carrier compensation for loss or damage in transit is subject to the carrier's terms, conditions and applicable compensation limits.
6. Acceptance of Items
Everthread will assess items after they arrive.
Items are accepted for consignment only once Everthread has assessed them and confirmed their acceptance for resale.
The 180-day consignment period begins on the date the items are accepted by Everthread, rather than the date the Client Consignment Form is submitted or the parcel is sent.
Everthread will maintain a record of accepted items and their acceptance date.
Items rejected during assessment do not enter the consignment period and are dealt with under Section 3.
7. Pricing and Selling Authority
Everthread independently manages the pricing and sale of accepted items.
By consigning your items, you authorise Everthread to:
Research and determine appropriate resale prices.
Select suitable selling platforms.
Consider and accept reasonable buyer offers.
Reduce prices during the consignment period.
Refresh, relist or move items between selling platforms.
Everthread does not provide individual price estimates or guarantee minimum sale prices unless expressly agreed in writing.
Resale prices may be significantly lower than original retail prices and can fluctuate according to condition, demand, season and marketplace activity.
The client acknowledges that sales completed within Everthread's authorised pricing arrangements are binding and cannot be reversed at the client's request solely because they are dissatisfied with the final selling price.
8. Commission and Client Earnings
Everthread's commission is calculated on the final selling price of each item, excluding any postage paid by the buyer.
The following commission structure applies:
Final Item Selling Price: Client Earnings / Everthread Commission
Under £100: 50% / 50%
£100–£199.99: 60% / 40%
£200–£299.99: 70% / 30%
£300 and above: 75% / 25%
The applicable commission tier is calculated separately for each item, based on its final selling price.
Any applicable marketplace fees and promotional or selling costs are deducted from the client's share of the sale proceeds.
Marketplace fees may include selling platform commissions, transaction or payment processing charges, and optional promotional features such as listing boosts or increased visibility.
Everthread aims to keep these costs to a minimum. Optional promotional features are used selectively, where we believe they may improve an item's visibility or likelihood of selling. They are not routinely applied to every item or used simply to accelerate sales at the expense of achieving a fair resale price.
Our priority is to achieve a reasonable resale value for each item, taking into account its brand, condition, market demand and comparable selling prices. Any applicable marketplace fees or agreed promotional costs will be reflected in the client's final sales statement.
Where a sale is refunded, cancelled or reversed, the corresponding commission and client earnings will be adjusted accordingly.
No undisclosed fees will be charged to clients.
9. Client Payouts
Client payouts are made at the end of the consignment period, once all accepted items have been sold, returned to the client or donated to charity with the client's authorisation.
The standard consignment period is up to 180 calendar days from the date items are accepted for resale. The consignment period may end earlier if all items have reached a final outcome. Clients will not be required to wait until the full 180 days have elapsed to receive their payout.
Everthread will provide a final statement of completed sales and arrange payment once all relevant transactions have been completed, marketplace funds have cleared and any outstanding returns or donations have been finalised.
Client payouts are made at the end of the consignment period, rather than after individual sales. Where a consignment is extended beyond the initial 180 days, a payment will be made for eligible completed sales from the initial period, with any further earnings paid at the conclusion of the agreed extension. We do not otherwise offer interim payouts.
Where a consignment is extended beyond the initial 180 days, earnings from completed sales during the initial period will be paid at the conclusion of those 180 days, once the relevant funds have cleared. Earnings from the agreed extension will be paid at the end of the extended period, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Sales subject to unresolved refunds, returns or marketplace disputes will not be treated as final until the relevant transaction is resolved.
Where a completed sale is subsequently refunded or reversed, any corresponding earnings adjustment will be explained to the client.
10. Consignment Period
The standard consignment period is up to 180 calendar days from the date items are accepted for resale.
During this period, Everthread manages the listing, marketing, pricing and sale of accepted items. Everthread may adjust prices to reflect buyer interest, market conditions and the remaining consignment period. No particular selling price, timeframe or sell-through rate is guaranteed.
The consignment period ends when all accepted items have been sold, returned to the client or donated to charity with the client's authorisation. This may occur before the full 180 days have elapsed.
If any items remain unsold at the end of the initial 180-day period, the client will be offered the options outlined in Section 11, including the opportunity to extend the consignment period.
11. Unsold Items at the End of Consignment
At the end of the initial 180-day consignment period, Everthread will contact the client regarding any items that remain unsold.
The client will be offered three options:
Option A — Extend the Consignment
The client may request an extension of the consignment period, subject to Everthread's agreement.
Any extension will be confirmed in writing, including its duration. Earnings from sales completed during the initial 180-day period will be paid in accordance with Section 9.
Option B — Return of Unsold Items
The client may arrange collection or request the return of their unsold items.
The client is responsible for all reasonable return postage or courier costs.
Everthread will confirm the applicable cost before arranging return.
Alternatively, the client may arrange collection at their own expense.
Once all remaining items have been returned and any outstanding sales have been finalised, the consignment period will end and the client's final payout will be arranged in accordance with Section 9.
Option C — Donate Unsold Items to Charity
The client may authorise Everthread to donate their unsold items to charity free of charge.
By selecting this option, the client gives Everthread permission to arrange donation of the specified items without payment or compensation. Everthread will make reasonable arrangements to donate suitable items to a charitable organisation.
Once all remaining items have been donated and any outstanding sales have been finalised, the consignment period will end and the client's final payout will be arranged in accordance with Section 9.
Unless an extension has been agreed, Everthread will stop actively marketing unsold items at the end of the consignment period.
Unsold items do not automatically become Everthread's property when the consignment period expires.
12. Uncollected Items and Failure to Respond
Everthread will contact clients at the end of the consignment period using the contact details provided.
If a client does not respond or arrange return, collection, extension or donation, Everthread may issue a further written notice setting out the available options and a reasonable deadline.
If no arrangements are made following appropriate notice, Everthread reserves the right to take any further steps permitted by applicable law concerning uncollected goods.
Everthread will not automatically assume ownership, donate or dispose of items solely because the client has failed to respond.
Clients are responsible for keeping their contact information up to date.
13. Care of Items, Insurance and Liability
Everthread will take reasonable care of all consigned items while they are in its possession, including during storage, photography, preparation and handling.
As items are pre-owned, they may already show signs of wear, age or deterioration. Everthread is not responsible for pre-existing faults or deterioration that occurs independently of any failure by Everthread to exercise reasonable care.
Insurance
Everthread does not currently hold a dedicated insurance policy covering clients' consigned items against loss, theft or damage while in its possession.
Clients should not assume that their items are insured by Everthread or that compensation at their original purchase price or estimated resale value is guaranteed.
Loss, Damage and Liability
In the event that an item is lost, stolen or damaged while in Everthread's possession, the circumstances will be reviewed individually, including whether Everthread exercised reasonable care.
Any responsibility for loss or damage, and any compensation payable, will be determined in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the incident. Compensation is not automatically calculated using an item's original retail price or estimated resale value.
Where items are transported by postal or courier services, any compensation available from the carrier will be subject to its terms, conditions and applicable limits and may not cover the item's full value.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including liability arising from a failure to exercise reasonable care where applicable.
14. Marketplace Sales, Returns and Refunds
Everthread sells through third-party resale platforms, including Vinted, eBay and other appropriate marketplaces.
Transactions are subject to applicable marketplace rules and buyers' legal rights.
Everthread manages ordinary buyer enquiries, disputes, returns and refunds as part of the resale service.
Where a transaction is cancelled, refunded or reversed, client earnings will be based on the final completed transaction.
15. Completed Sales and Finality of Transactions
By consigning items to Everthread, the client authorises Everthread to enter into sales transactions with buyers on their behalf.
Once an item has been sold through a marketplace and a binding sale has been agreed, the client may not withdraw the item from sale, request its return or require Everthread to cancel the transaction.
Once a sale has been completed, the item is no longer available for return to the client. The client is entitled instead to their share of the final net sale proceeds, calculated in accordance with Everthread's commission structure.
All completed sales are final as between Everthread and the consigning client, subject to any applicable buyer cancellation, return or refund rights, marketplace rules and legal obligations.
Where a buyer legitimately cancels a transaction or an item is returned or refunded, Everthread will manage the matter in accordance with the applicable marketplace rules and these Terms & Conditions.
16. Ending a Consignment Early
If a client wishes to end their consignment before the agreed completion date, they should contact Everthread.
Everthread will explain the arrangements for removing listings and returning unsold items, including applicable reasonable return costs.
Items already sold or subject to a binding sale cannot necessarily be withdrawn.
Any statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.
17. Changes to These Terms
Everthread may update its Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Updated Terms will apply to new consignments from their stated effective date.
Material changes affecting existing consignments will not be imposed retrospectively without appropriate notice and, where necessary, the client's agreement.
18. Contact and Complaints
For questions or concerns regarding a consignment, please contact Everthread using the contact details published on our website.
We will seek to resolve concerns fairly and promptly.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to applicable mandatory consumer protections.
